Cookie Policy
Last updated: 14 July 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones matchdaylab.com uses, and how you can control them. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, and they can be used to understand how the site is being used. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and tracking scripts. Where we say “cookies” in this policy, we mean all of these.
Cookies are either:
- First-party — set by matchdaylab.com; or third-party — set by another organisation whose service we use.
- Session — deleted when you close your browser; or persistent — stored for a set period.
2. Your consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, we can only place non-essential cookies on your device with your consent.
When you first visit our site you will see a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the site cannot function without them. Everything else is off by default and is only set if you turn it on. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
3. The cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary — always on
These are required for the site to work. They enable core functions such as page navigation, security and remembering your cookie choices. They do not track you, and we do not need your consent to set them. Blocking them in your browser may stop parts of the site working.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie consent preference | MatchdayLab | Remembers the choices you made in our cookie banner, so we do not ask again on every page | Up to 12 months |
| wordpress_test_cookie | MatchdayLab (WordPress) | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies | Session |
| elementor | MatchdayLab (Elementor) | Stored in your browser’s local storage and used by our page builder to display the site correctly | Until you clear it |
3.2 Analytics
We do not currently set any analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable tool on this site.
The “Analytics” toggle appears in our cookie banner so that, if we introduce an analytics tool in future, your consent choice is already recorded and respected. Nothing is set unless you have turned it on and we have added a tool. If we do add one, we will update this policy first and set out exactly which cookies it uses.
3.3 Marketing
We do not currently set any marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run advertising pixels, and we do not track you across other websites.
As with analytics, the “Marketing” toggle exists in our banner so that your preference is captured in advance. If we ever introduce advertising cookies, we will update this policy and the banner before doing so.
4. Embedded content from other sites
Pages on this site may include embedded content — for example a video player, a map or a social media post. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, and the provider may set its own cookies and track your interaction with the embed. We have no control over those cookies, and we recommend reading the relevant provider’s own cookie and privacy policies.
5. How to manage cookies
On our site
Click “Cookie Settings” in the footer to review or change your choices at any time.
In your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may break parts of this and other websites.
Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There is no agreed industry standard for responding to it, so our site does not act on Do Not Track signals. Please use the cookie banner instead.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy whenever we add, remove or change the cookies we use.
